What Am I Working on Now?
A UML Modeler
1Between my job @ Almer/Blank and OL, I write a lot of code for a lot of applications. Sometimes it’s useful to visually see how all the different pieces of a component or an entire application fit together. It’s definitely a break from housing all that madness in your head.
Enter Simpl. I created this application to allow myself and those willing to use it to create simple UML diagrams for AS3, PHP and SQL objects. Click the button below to view some “Getting Started” screencasts I recently put together that cover using Simpl.
A Runtime Debugger
2Every serious Flash Platform developer needs a tool like this in their arsenal. They can prove extremely useful in tracking down issues not only during development but also once in production. And when Adobe introduced AIR to the developer community, Opticon was one of my first creations.
After 2 years in the shadows, I feel it’s ready to be shared with the world. I’ve got some interesting additions planned for future release so click the button below to download Opticon and add it to your toolbox.
A Universal Git Client
3Git is quickly becoming the source code management (SCM) system of choice for the savvy developer. It’s extremely fast and doesn’t require a central server or even network access.
A lot of the headaches I’ve personally experienced with other SCM systems are non-existent with Git. Using a system that fluid has inspired me to create GitControl. Borrowing from Git’s design principle, I sought to develop a GUI that was painless to use. And, by leveraging AIR, I’m able to enjoy a consistent visual workflow cross-platform.
